Description

“Mom! What happened to Leon?”

An eight-year-old boy dashed towards his mother with much anxiety. The rather short child screamed as his mother was about to pin a needle through a toy: a doll that shared very similar features as a Riolu. “Stop! Don’t hurt him!”

The mother was shocked when she saw her son sprinting towards her with a burst of energy. By her instinct, she withdrew the sewing needle high up in the air, avoiding any chance that the sharp needle might hurt the innocent boy.

“Calm down, Hayden. Mommy is not trying to hurt Leon.” she explained without fretting, not wanting to make the young man worry more. “I am just trying to fix him.”

“Fix him...?” Looking up at his mother, Hayden asked with much curiosity. Though, he still felt some sort of reluctance in his heart to have seen his doll being pierced by such a sharp looking object.

The Riolu doll is Hayden’s favorite doll; It has been with him since he was very young. He was so fond of it to have even given it a name: Leon. The Riolu doll looked just like most others of its kind. Blue and fluffy fur; big and round, ruby-like eyes; cute and docile paws, it had got all of the notable characteristics. It also had a red bandanna around his neck, servicing as a miscellaneous accessory to match its eyes. The Riolu doll always had a smile clinging on its face. If you squeeze its soft belly, it would even say “I love you” to its owner.

The mother sighed and smiled to reassure Hayden’s concern, she completely understood why Hayden was reacting rather vigorously. “Yes, Mommy thinks Leon is hurt...” She tilted the doll to the boy, showing somewhere around the doll’s chest that it was ripped. Some cotton was falling out. “Mommy needs to put some stitches on him or he will break. Do you understand, Hayden?”

Hayden frowned and pouted a bit when he saw Leon’s ‘wound’, he didn’t say a thing as he sat back on the floor, agreeing to let his mother performed the ‘operation’.

Noticing that Hayden had calmed down, his mother smiled and finally lowered her hand that was holding the needle. With a strand of red line clinging on the needle, she stabbed it through the ripped part of the doll and poked it back out thus that she could seal the cleavage. She continued to line the red string in accordance to the opening of the gap.

Every time the needle pierced through Leon’s ‘skin’, Hayden couldn’t help but squeeze his eyes shut and grit his teeth as if he could feel the pain. Still, the boy tried his best to maintain his eyes at least half-lidded so that he could watch the ‘operation’ went smoothly.

Barely, he could still see the smile on Leon’s face. With his mother still stitching his dearest doll, different thoughts jerked the child’s heart. He frowned more, but he continued to cast his focus on what his mother was doing. He pouted more, but he tried his best to keep his feelings inside.

“Leon is stupid!” Not being able to hold his feelings no more, Hayden burst out what was irritating him.

Aaawww! I also have a Riolu doll, I´ve had it for years. Once I accidentaly ripped his back and I felt so sad, but I started fixing him right away because I thought that was "hurting" him.
