Soon, the sunlight loomed away and was replaced by the warm glow of torches that lined the walls of the rocky cavern. The roomful underground cavern was silent.The crackling remains of branches and logs being digested in the fireplace and the steady drops of water dripping from stalactites around Vagus’ pool were the only sounds he could make out.
